The value,
distinctiveness and minimum sales price are all
reasons for choosing to pay the $19.99
for the Premium Service. For that fee, you have
the option of setting a higher minimum starting bid
amount. For instance, if you feel your item should
sell for $500 but are willing to let it go for a minimum
of a $300 bid, then we can set the starting bid amount
at $300 and hope it is bid up to $500 or more.
Another option is to start the bid amount at $1 but set
a reserve price at $300. You may see a lot more
activity if the bid starts at only $1 but you will not
have to sell the item unless the bids come up to $300 or
more.
Another option for selecting the Premium
Service option is to set a Buy It Now price. With
a Buy It Now price set at say $600 with a starting bid
of $300 with a Reserve Price set at $500, you have the
option of allowing anyone to purchase the item
Immediately and end the sale by agreeing to pay the $600
at any time before the bidding hits the Reserve Price of
$500. Once the Reserve Price in an auction is met
the Buy It Now option ends. Also, if no Reserve
Price is set, then the Buy It Now option ends once any
bid is placed on the item.
Another good feature of using the Buy It
Now option is simply set the price with no bidding
allowed. The only way a person can get the item is
to agree to pay your Buy It Now price and pay
immediately. The Laube Group uses the Buy It Now
option extensively in its own product sales because most
business related items sell faster for a higher price
with a fixed Buy It Now option. Businesses want to
buy on eBay immediately instead of bid on something and
hope they win it in a few days. Many consumers,
however; love the feel of the auction and will only bid
on items instead of doing a Buy It Now.
Most high priced items, unique items or
items in high demand benefit from the use of the Buy It
Now option with a set price.
